My point is simply this:

So you think as an individual, you can say oops...what about governments?

Do you believe, when agents of government apply some form of torture that they are doing it just for grins...or do they have information that they believe is reliable that the detainee knows something that can save lives?

If the requirement is that no mistake can ever be tolerated by governments, than the free world is doomed because the 'bad guys' have too great an advantage.
