VCs in the US funded 60 disk drive companies, 3+ dog food over the internet dot coms, and at least two dry cleaning over the internet dot coms.

And not enough biotechs for about 4 years 1998 to 2002.

There needs to be a certain amount of waste, to cover all bases, to alow multiple approachs, etc.

Far excessive waste of capital will cause recessions and lower growth.

There's no point in China duplicating Japan's MITI or Ministry of Finance, but tacitly 'approving' a number of lead bankers / consolidators/ regional bankers / etc. might be useful

There is a good case to be made for a drigiste economic plan in parallel with free for all.

Infrastructure work shows plannng - 3 Gorges, canal systems, roads, etc.
