I think it would be easier to give a dog back to a returning hero then it would in other situations.

Though I've no doubt the experience would end up leaving a void to fill after the pooch goes home.

I do hope their operation is working out well. It is hard to leave a family behind but they can be told what is happening along the way. A pet must go through a lot of grief, especially if it ends up in a pound.
