Wow. That's actually a very good definition, because it fits my thinking on terrorism. Terrorism of this kind will never really ever go away. So the only way the civilized world copes with it is like crime. You marginalize it so it doesn't disrupt society in a major way and then eventually citizens get desensitized to it and it doesn't bother them.
If that is the definition, then we are already on the way to winning, because of the muted response of the stock markets to the London attacks. They weren't nearly as bad as the 9/11 or Madrid attacks. So I guess the world is learning to live with Muslim terrorists.
Still I think it would be a good thing if we dropped a guided missile on the House of Saud, Musharraf's palace, Assad's palace, and Khamenie's mosque every time there was an attack on a Western country. In the old days, an attack like in New York, London, and Madrid used to be considered a declaration of war. We know where the terrorists are coming from and we know those gov'ts aren't doing nearly enough to reign in the extremists in their countries. Far from it, they are actually creating them. In Iran, they now have a 40,000 strong force of recruited suicide bombers that they are touting. In Saud, they continually preach hatred against the West. In Pakistan, the people hide Osama and his people, and in Syria, Assad continues to aid and abet the Iraq terrorists. So let's start smacking the rulers around a bit. They are the ones with power. If we make the rulers quake in their shoes, maybe something will get done. Make the Muslims rulers solve the problems they created. |
