Grandfather-Sir aka Gramps, announces the arrival of Hayes Tohill, son of our youngest, Melissa [21] and Jon Tohill. 10am 10 July 2005, 4.02kg. Baby feeding and happy, mother done a great job, but as usual, tired. Father well too but probably needing a couple of beers.
May they live long, be happy, prosper, do good works and die content.
First grandchild for us. No big deal to the old hands, but sign of the times, here I am in Heathrow, Tarken-san [28] in Tokyo, Emily [24] in Los Angeles or somewhere, Anita-san [26] in Auckland [resident Aunt], Alison supervising proceedings.
Roll on mobile cyberspace so we can communicate, send pictures and so on and not pay ONE POUND FOR ONLY 10 MINUTES on a crusty connection at an airport.
