Can you also explain why England's stock market is now sitting at the top of its multiyear trading range even though the housing market is already in a downturn?

Not really, nor can most people explain the US markets holding firm with 9 consecutive hikes and a flat yield curve to boot.

There are some explanations of course but perhaps the market will do what it will do and the market and the economy often do not move hand in hand.

Earlier I hypothesized that since the US market was strong during hikes (whatever happened to 3 steps and a stunble?), that we may not undo this strength until everyone expects a positive reaction from the pause or cuts.

Perhaps everyone is jumping in early for the pause party?
In the UK perhaps they are positioning for cuts in interest rates.

Sell the news?
