2006 Tennessee Governor Race Fred Thompson may run for Governor of Tennessee next year. Given his return to the political scene, it is a real possibility. He briefly considered running for Governor in 2002 but opted against it. Were he to run, I would give Thompson the edge. Remember that Democrats are down to holding Gubernatorial chairs in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Louisiana. Virginia will probably fall to the GOP tsunami this year.
