All: RPR news yesterday biz.yahoo.com Some interesting tidbits: (The company) said it had filed a new drug application with the Food and Drug Administration in Washington for Synercid, the first injectable streptogramin, a distinct class of antibiotics. The company said it had been urged to move quickly on development of the drug. ``The FDA has called us often to ask us to file (for drug approval),'' RPR spokesman Jean-Jacques Bienaime told Reuters. Bienaime added that the unusual FDA overtures indicated the agency's serious concern about new strains of bacteria such as a type of staphylococcus that resists vancomycin, the antibiotic of last resort.
