Is that not prime. No one, not one thing on earth, wants to be a slave. A "good" situation is not better than a jungle situation when individuals want to choose to determine their fate. We constantly forget, being herded back to state issues, that it really is "about US." The state is not created to have citizens serve it, but rather to serve its' citizens.
We have made talking points into believing reality backwards. Now how many people are going to be able to follow that? Not many. So, you are back to the structure of leaders and followers. Leaders who will inspire reform are everywhere oppressed - through educational institutions, commercial enterprises - only through rare (and rarer) "Arts" grants are "free thinkers" left with social space to possibly survive, and per-chance, prosper.
Sylvester, The thinkers of then were no different from the thinkers of now. All were oppressed because they threatened (challenged) the powers that "be" - at the helm - just the same scenario as we have now. Those who had courage saw their ideals prevail, those who buckled are lost to history.
My point is your point. There is no time throughout history when we could be safe from corrupt racketeers, banksters and government evil. What's new is the sophistication with which they are wielding persuative tactics. We are more in danger of serfdom than we have ever been - not only because the effort is global, but because indoctrination techniques are so advanced, available, and excellent.
I use the word "excellent" in a derrogatory sense...
This time we have the chance to do it right. But will we take it? Will weaker links convince the leadership that pay-offs are the ways to freedom? Will people simply refuse to engage in useless trade (because they already got everything) -- or because they see their neighborhood fathers losing jobs, and leaving...
We should cry out in this age - depending on the cry of ages past. We should be pissed, mad as hell, and we shouldn't take it anymore* *These phrases are all attributable to the twentieth and twenty-first century, American, USA. |
