Having solved the Israel-Palestine problem, I will now outline my proposal to eliminate Al Qaeda.

It goes like this. As I understand it Al Qaeda's main goal is the elimination of the current nation-state structure (Jordan, Saudia Arabia, Iran, Trukey, Kuwait, etc.) in the Muslim world and replacing it with a single united Muslim "country" ruled by sharia law and led by a califf. They think that the Jewish government (not Jewish population, the government) in Israel, the US military presence in many places are blocking this "ideal" Al Qaeda country. But their main obstacle to achieving this "ideal" land is the many, many oppressive Arab government's themselves.

The solution, tell Al Qaeda that they can make their case to the Arab population at the ballot box.

The UN (or international community or whoever) just has to make Al Qaeda realize that the best way to achieve their goal is through complete democratization of the Muslim countries. Then the Muslim countries could have an "Al Qaeda" party who's platform would primarily revolve around that end goal of uniting all Muslim states under one umbrella with sharia law.

An Al Qaeda politician in Jordan could run on a platform of uniting the country with Iraq and Lebanon and Syria (in the opposite way that Czechoslovakia split into Czech Republic and Slovakia), and an Al Qaeda politician in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria could do the same. Both could also include in their platform a policy of implementing Sharia law.

IF the Muslim people want this dream single Islamic land under Sharia, they will get it at the ballot box. On the other hand, if the people of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and everywhere else DON'T want this Al Qaeda fantasy, the zealots will be exposed for the zealots that they are, will have zero religious legitimacy, and will fade into a historical footnote.

Once Al Qaeda has an outlet to put their view forth to the Muslim people of the world (the ballot box), there is little reason for them to blow up subways in London if they lose a Muslim election. On the other hand, it may be the case that a significant portion of the Muslim world would choose the Al Qaeda platform (sympathies with the terrorists indicate this), and then this group of people (who favor establishing this single, Muslim land under sharia) will achieve their God given right of self determination, as outlined in the UN charter.

There, I have solved the problem of Al Qaeda. Next!!??
