Explains why Islamism seems to have strong elements of fascism?

Simply hatred of communism in the change of Muslims in Russia in the 30s. The westernization of the ME in the first part of the 20th century included turning to their western ideas of socialism/communism/fascism. The movement back since has been to a 6th century Caliph idea that gets is "fascism" from their concept of the oneness of church and state, and the nationalism out of it.

One of the problems with these definitions is that we have clear definitions of Socialism/Communism, but not of Fascism.
