Re : "Krugman has been right on target in his analysis, including the low interest rates on 10-year Treasuries."

NOT TRUE.

Krugman said in a relatively recent NYT piece that 10-year Treasuries should be at 7% now.

Give me a few minutes, and I hope I can dig up the article (I posted it somewhere on SI, because it was so absurd, I wanted to have it available).

If interest rates are low, now Krugman says it's because the "end of the world" is coming.

Maybe it is because current policies are helping to foster LOW INFLATION ???

Re : "the consequences of high current account deficits and growing domestic budget deficits, including the growing instabilities in state and local finances."

Domestic budget deficit is at a very comfortable size in relation to GDP. (Much better than most or all of the U.S. trading partners). Strong dollar, and low U.S. interest rates should reveal something ...

State and local finances are doing remarkably well last I heard. Heard about any municipal defaults (or even fears of one) lately ?

Jon.
