If this turns out to be true, we will hear a lot less about Gitmo from the left.

Killer of 13 on London Bus believed to be Among Dead--possible former Guest at The Gitmo Guest Ranch and Spa

By Justin on Britain

This just in from Sky News in London:

LONDON (Reuters) - The bomber responsible for the attack on a London bus last week was killed in the blast, Sky television reported on Tuesday, quoting police sources.

It was not clear whether the man had intended to detonate the bomb on the bus, Sky said. Police would not confirm the report.

Sky said a decapitated head found near the scene had been that of the bomber.

Forensic tests then led police to carry out raids on Tuesday in Leeds, northern England and to a car at Luton railway station north of London, Sky said.

Again, it was pointed out on 7-7-2005 by several blogs (h/t Wizbang) including the Fourth Rail that one of the suspects aboard the bus was believed to be a former guest in our five star Cuban Resort at Gitmo. The original report that Wizbang linked to was at North East Intelligence Network's Website and stated the following:

7 July 2005; 12:54 ET: Preliminary reports from a source inside the Pentagon indicate that one of the operatives involved in this morning's bombings in London was recently released from the prison at Guantanamo.

UPDATED 10:35 PM ET: A clarification was made by the source providing this information, noting that "one of the bombers who is believed to be involved in this attack was recently released from the prison at Guantanamo, Cuba." The source did not elaborate about how the suspect was reportedly identified so early, although suggested he was onboard bus 30 that exploded outside of the British Medical Association at 9:47 local time. We are continuing our investigation.

We can only assume that a name will be reported shortly and we can confirm or rule out these rumors."
