The ability of humans to bury their heads in the sand and ignore reality is unlimited. We are all so happy borrowing $2billion every day from the Chinese and Japanese - hey no big deal. Of course we are spending and promising to spend more than $1billion every day beyond our national tax revenue, but what the heck. Lets all just be happy.

Of course if we are serious for a minute we will recall that Reagan campaigned against deficit spending and against unlimited spending and against nation building and for a balanced budget amendement to the constitution but thinking about all that stuff makes people's heads hurt. Just pretending that we don't have fiscal or current account problems is so much easier.

So if you can, be happy, don't worry.
