Now I spend an inordinate amount of time seduced by flat [more or less] green and balls at golf. Plus obviously a vast and probably pointless amount of time ranting into cyberspace. But then, who remembers the prosaic details of a peasant life in the 8th century? They are born, eat, work, play, mate and die. I wonder why green surfaces and balls have such attraction to so many people. I suppose it's sublimated hunter/gatherer behaviour drives. I will NOT be reading any of the horror stuff which was inflicted on me in my infancy - woodcutters going to chop up children [Hansell and Gretel], trolls eating billy goats, wolves and other terrors which led to nightmares. Nor will I expose him to anything on a television set [we didn't have tv while our children were young - it's brain suffocation and destruction].
