Vodafone upped at Goldman Sachs on valuation biz.yahoo.com LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Goldman Sachs upgraded British mobile phone operator Vodafone Group PLC to outperform from neutral, citing valuation. The broker told clients that Vodafone trades on multiples that position it around the lower quartile of the European telecoms sector, despite being the leading scale player and beginning to demonstrate it can leverage that scale convincingly. Vodafone also said it believes some good news could be around the corner. In particular, Goldman noted it expects an improvement in third-generation subscriber additions in Japan in the fourth quarter.
