It sure hinders one's financial "success". BTW, I am helping a friend with his immigration forms. Here are some of the questions on I-485. Perhaps they should routinely ask these questions from government contractors as well.

5. Do you intend to engage in the United States in:

  a. espionage?

  b. overthrow of the government of United States

...

8. Have you ever engaged in genocide, or otherwise ordered, incited, assisted...in killing of 
   any person because of race, religion, political opinion?

...

14. Do you plan to practice polygamy in the United States


Presumably espionage as part of work for AIPAC, overthrowing foreign governments, and keeping a few mistresses instead of a second wife is ok...but genocide? How did that get in there? Where's the loop hole?
