Agreed. "It would harm the Institution of the Presidency" etc etc etc At all costs, the illusion that: -- the President is honestly elected -- is his own man -- operates within the Constitution -- looks after the interests of the people has to be maintained. Nixon quit, presumably because staying might interfere with some of the above. Same with Bush. That is the best that can be hoped for--that he can be shamed into quitting. Namaste! Jim
