Why don't you put in an effort and get yourself from Amazon a copy of "No More Vietnams" by Richard Nixon. That may give you a firm idea of what Nixon and his administration expected from the Vietnam peace. "How the war was won and the peace lost" is a prevailing theme of same book. I many ways Nixon was a better book author than politician. Very similar to Churchill by the way, who never got his much coveted Nobel Peace Price but had to settle for their Literature Price.
