Orion -

They would have to have done a hell of a lot of channel stuffing to get sales up to those record levels. Retailers don't really carry tons of excess inventory these days.

Another question is whether Apple counts product as being sold when it ships or when the customer pays for it. If the latter, then channel stuffing doesn't have much of an effect on quarterly earnings.

Perhaps the fact that they had more iMacs there than you've seen in the past reflects one or both of the following:

Sales are good, and they have stocked up to deal with that.

The delivery had come in a short time before you arrived.
