It is a human trait to put one's own preferences in a better light than an opponent's. There is no question about that. And, you can usually tell by the "tone" of a post to what extent the poster is trying to be fair and unbiased. I, for one, try to remain balanced on those situations that could go either way. I will, however, voice my opinion loudly when it is obvious (to me as a career techie) that technical data or fact is abused or misused.

But, that's a totally different scenario than the posters on SI who deliberately "converse" with each other ... when they are in actuality the same person. That, to me, is going too far. Those who resort to those tactics should at least be identified, and warned by SI to stop.

I enjoy Monk's posts. They have a touch of humor to them that offsets some of the more caustic underlying messages. I don't much care for his continual references to concubines and such, but that's just a matter of personal preference.

These boards are a great source of information, and everyone who reads them darned well better do their own due diligence. I'd hate to see censorship take hold and diminish the overall value of the facility.

Regards,
