The US military is structured far more for offense than defense. The very term "Defense Dept" is a big lie. The only truly defensive branch of the service is the Coast Guard. Is the Iraq invasion a "defensive" war. In times past the powers that be at least were honest and named it the "Department of War." That is what it was known as during World War 2.
