Welcome Terrance, << we shall all one day be gods >> . This response of yours reveals the deception by which our original parents Adam and Eve were seduced in the garden of Eden. Prior To this rebellion against God, Adam found his true Identity and purpose in his relationship with his Creator. When he rebelled against God, Adam was immediately aware of his fallen condition, He saw Himself as he now had become and was ashamed. He had severed his identity and purpose of his existance with his Creator. The Bible calls this act sin. This sin nature which Adam instituted has been passed on to all mankind. Adam in choosing to believe the lie that satan offered him ( Gen. 3-5 )., " you shall become as God " chose his independance. This lie has been passed on to all mankind , that is , we can find our true meaning and identity outside ( independantly ) of Almighty God. Because of this severed relationship between man and God , Man now has to fill this emptyness with man made gods . This is called religion. Religion is mans attempt to re-instate himself by his behaviour to his twisted view of the true God. Christianity is the complete opposite of religion. God in the person of Jesus Christ makes the first response to mankind, and offers all men the Good News of the Gospel. Terrance I understand where you are coming from, I to embraced similar views as you on the existance of God. It was God Himself who awakened me from the dead and revealed is Son In Me.
