RMD Entertainment Finalizes Contract With Groove Mobile;
Expands Distribution in Booming Ringtone Market
- 7/14/2005 4:03:14 PM

BAY CITY, Mich. and TORONTO, Jul 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- RMD Entertainment Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sciax Corp. (Pink Sheets:SCXC), finalized a ringtone distribution agreement in which Groove Mobile will distribute RMD's entire music catalogue. Groove Mobile works in affiliation with 5 of the top European ringtone resellers which include Orange of the UK, Eurotel for the Czech Republic, Telenor from Norway, Pannon from Hungary, and PTC from Poland.

"A ringtone is an audio clip that signals an incoming cell phone call. People are looking for a way to show their individuality and ringtones give them the ability to do that. One's ringtone, after all, says a lot about a person's taste in music, sense of humor and other personality traits. For years, mobile phone users have been replacing their standard ringers with popular music, television theme songs, comedy routines and funny quotes and sounds," stated Giorgio Costonis.

Although ringtones are not new, they have just recently hit their peak. According to BMI, a U.S. performing rights organization, American ringtone sales reached $245 million last year, up from $68 million in 2003. This year's U.S. sales are projected to top $500 million. The European market is even larger than the U.S. market because ringtones were introduced earlier to mobile telephone subscribers.

Leigh Harty, Content Manager of Grove Mobile said, "We are very excited to work with RMD Entertainment. Their existing catalogue is extensive, including established artists such as Freedom Williams of C&C Music Factory, as well as a tremendous group of new artists set to launch later this year and early 2006. Our plan is to synchronize release schedules of Grove Mobile and RMD's European distribution arms to maximize their profile and revenues in the market."

Giorgio Costonis, CEO of Sciax Corp. and President of RMD Entertainment, added, "We are continuing to pursue the 14 to 24 year old market internationally. Groove Mobile allows us to establish a substantial foothold in that target demographic revenue base throughout the European territory. Hip Hop has become an international phenomenon and we feel that it was imperative to tap into all global markets in every arena available as technology continues to develop."
