Actually I have been observing my punctuation endings critically myself recently and was expecting some reaction like this to come.

Not so much being of fear I always intended that to induce additional thinking along the same lines.
But anyway, I will change my manners. Mannerism is never a good thing and I doubt it helps to get the message over to you.

Its a very common tactic to keep people compliant.....its been used very effectively on Americans since WW II. I have grown very sensitive to its use.
