I think DVD-Soft is meant to be a "full-time" non-hardware MPEG solution. For purely standalone playback, that might be okay on a PC...unfortunately it takes the CPU and makes it difficult to run other software.

On the other hand, wasn't the OAKT DVD-Browser just that...a browser for skimming through DVD data?

Also, the real story here seems to be the "hellish" graphics chip this company just came out with. It seems bound for design wins...and revenues.

I was disappointed to read this am that ZRAN's DVD-Soft will be shipping with all new Compaq Presario computers. If you remember OAKT was first to market with their DVD-Browser that is MSFT 1.0 compliant.
