Very keen observation M~ She was brief and sometimes too much to the point, and I never connected those particular dots as to wanting "just a graveside" service....but now that I think of it, I'm sure that's the reason she wanted that. After her service, I think I'm inclined that way as well...unless of course, I should go when it is winter... That would have been much to cold for everyone else...
The memory boards were a huge help, I think. Memories are in the minds of those who observed the memory...so to speak. And picture boards help to share those memories and stories. There were some funny memories...one we were all too young to share with she and my dad....There was one that was taken before any of us were born that dad had lifted her over his shoulder and was carrying her off...she was pretty small and looked like a sack of potatoes with arms and legs...I'm sure she was hollering for him to put her down. The ones I particularly liked were two that she had given me of all her class mates when she was in the 2nd and 4th grades in the 1920's...all of the kids were just "so spiffy", and she was as well....She certainly was a beautiful child, and not in a "frilly" way...she was every inch a tomboy, classic, elegant, with brilliant blue eyes....
Didn't know I was so tired until last night about 10:30 when I dang near zonked out on my keyboard. All I was trying to do was try to catch up, but will have to do that a bit later, I guess....
Thanks for the good wishes and hope all is going well with you all too! |
