I'd expect a short term kick, but I really don't see more than that. Does anyone believe he'll live forever? So it seems to me that a known event (only the timing is unknown) should already be priced in, and may be a reason why BRKB hasn't performed better recently. I don't think there are a lot of day traders in BRKA/BRKB.

Regarding insurance risk, I trust Warren's team to manage it; that's their job. I think the broader economic impact of a catastrophe that would be big enough to shake BRK would make it hard to pick safe havens elsewhere.
