Not to mention that the idea of removing Saddam's forces from Kuwait was hardly "bad advice". Building bases in Saudi Arabia was bad advice. I think Bush Sr. could have got by with building bases in Kuwait. It became too obvious that the bases were close to the oil fields, and not in defense of another move by Iraq. TP
