My plan is to buy a shell with the corners and major fitting done by hand at the builder's place of business. Then they number the logs, haul them to my site, and I assemble and do the final fitting. I would love to have the skill to do the handwork myself, but I just have to face the fact that it takes years to develop and I don't have that time or energy. I've always dreamed of having a trapper cabin in the woods, but it's pretty hard to do nowadays. My back yard is big enough and I'll get a lot more use out of it that way. Time will tell. And money.
