They hate the moderate Muslims in the ME just as much as they hate us.

I am not trying to pick a fight. I know why we're there, I support our presence, and most of our policies. But I think it's short sighted not to recognize that Sharia law and fundamentalist Islam demands that we submit as dhimmis, and not profane their holy places.

We're a foreign body, like a splinter in their flesh, and they want to expel us. It's a different insult than our culture, it's a different insult than our superiority, it's a different insult than killing Muslims.

And it's motivated by something other than their contempt for moderate Muslims. They think they could control the moderate Muslims if we weren't interfering, and I think they're probably right. What would Egypt do without US aid? What would Saudi Arabia do without US weapons? What would the entire Middle East do without the Pax Americana?
