I understand your distinction, but the previous post was 'open' to interpretation :-)

On your summation point: Arab culture is xenophobic, racist, and intolerant. I would respond that the Japanese were also this way, maybe even more so.

We broke the back of Japanese xenophobia and militarism. They now have a modern democratic society. It can be done, but it isn't simple or easy.
