The Bush economy is very good for the very rich, not bad for the investor upper middleclass and lousy for most others. Real wages and security are down, health care much more expensive and of course the energy gouging is terrible.

Someone is going to have to pay the tab for the trillions in new Bush deficits. God help us if the real estate and stock market bubbles collapse at the same time. Millions are now living on artificially low-cost interest-only loans and perceived real estate equity. It is a timebomb waiting to go off. And the real unemployment rate is much higher than 5% as milions have given up looking.

Also, economies always do well during wars because of the massive additional federal spending, but longer term that's a negative, especially when nthe war makes us less safe. This economy is similar to that during the Vietnam War. After the war, the debts had to be paid we it was a big bad hangover. The Ford and Carter years took the brunt of it.

Also consider the Bush dollar is down around 40% so we're 40% poorer as a nation relative to the Euro and Yen. That has benefits but mostly it's a negative.
