Nope, they can't say any of those things. The commercials for the guard make it seem like your commitment is for one weekend a month and two weeks a year, but you're signing your life away, just like in the regular military. Here in Utah, the National Guard is 80% deployed full time, mostly in Iraq. They are used to fight forest fires here, so who's going to do THAT?

Here's the difference between the guard and reserve, not much:

The guard can have more bosses.
