1. I have been saying over and over and over again that we must have:

- 100% publicly supported campaigns on all levels
- vote by mail
- 20 year moratorium on leaving office (politico or bureaucrat...anyone on the public payroll) and receiving anything of value from any industry or organization you have any influence over.

2. It make no sense to ignore the current system while hoping a better one comes along. Politicians ARE CHEAP. A few million produces billions in profits for corporations. As soon as a politician takes office, they go looking for the next campaign's funds. They're always looking for funds.

So, why don't public interest groups buy them as well?

"...feeble-minded and insane classes.." Now that would be the British aristocracy inbreeding to the point of stupidity and lameness.

That would also be the Bush family.
