Dale > Don't insult Africa, this continent so rich yet so badly led. Instead, insult its leaders, who have ruined everything
I would agree fully with that but, of course, no-one dare insult, let alone reprimand, any African leader. If anyone who tried it was a white he would immediately be branded a racist and if another African, that would immediately precipitate his elimination from the exclusive club of African heroes, all of whom preside over squalor, poverty, filth and disease in their countries while sending their wives to shop in the most exclusive boutiques in Europe.
Meanwhile, the African Bonanza continues apace in South Africa

>>Number of dollar millionaires skyrockets to 37000
A TOTAL of 8000 South Africans have become dollar millionaires in just 12 months.
They are among the record 12000 dollar millionaires created in the country over the past three years by the property boom, a strong rand and black economic empowerment.
The number of home-grown millionaires grew to a staggering 37000 last year from 25000 in 2002.
The Lotto created 34 dollar millionaires and construction, mining, technology and finance also grew wealth.
The 2005 World Wealth Report — which monitored super-rich individuals in 68 countries — also shows that South Africa boasts Africa’s largest population of ultra-rich individuals (those whose personal financial wealth ranges between $5-million and $30-million).
More than half of Africa’s 75000 dollar millionaires, who hold a combined fortune of $700-billion, are based in South Africa.
According to the report, the increase in the number of South Africa’s super-rich over a one-year period is matched only by Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
Louise Brakenhielm, the London-based spokesman for Capgemini who compiled the report with Merrill Lynch, said: “It’s also reasonable to say that no other African country has as many ultra-millionaires as South Africa.”
And industry experts and economists say South Africa’s wealth explosion shows no signs of slowing.<<
Being a SAn I'm not complaining but I just wanted to make the point that the African Bonanza is alive and well -- for those who are fortunate and especially for those who are well-connected. |
