John Dean is extremely credible on this subject. He was a Nixon man, Tricky Dick's in-house attorney, a Republican, and is a top-notch expert on all these issues. He is one of the few who has actually been through the entire process personally. He even wrote a book about the imperial WH of GW Bush called "Worse Than Watergate". By "worse" he means more secretive and less honest even than Nixon-Agnew.

In fact, I challenge you to name anyone who is more credible than John DEan on the subject of WH scandals and the leak tripwires involved in covering them up.
