Joe Wilson was caught on TV stating that either his wife should be fired or Karl Rove is innocent. His neighbors have stated that she was quite clear to them that she was a CIA agent and her husband a diplomat. It is probable that the media used neighbors as sources or at least that is where the rumor started.

His quote:
"I've said all along. Anyone involved with exposing the identity of a covert operator should be removed from office."

Since his wife expose herself, according to Wilson, she should be fired. Other agents have stated that what is really likely is that she was not a covert operator, and should have had her status changed. She was what is called a NOC; I do not recall what it stands for.
