Make sure you.....or who ever builds it.....knows what they are doing. I read an article in the STs a few weeks ago (sorry, they took it off their site) that discussed some of the nightmares people have faced with their log homes. Things like settling (doors, windows and cabinets shifting), rot from water and bugs, using improper stains and improper maintenance......of which there seems to be allot.....and cost. We considered building one , but after reading that article, have changed our minds. This is a pretty comprehensive question and answer site that includes allot of information. M cmhc-schl.gc.ca
