Try shopping at the Dell website. They frequently have special offers that will usually price beat any retail store. For your seemingly limited use you shouldn't need to spend a lot of money. Personally, I wouldn't go with a Celeron chip, but rather a Pentium, or Intel's M chip which works well with wireless. Centrino is good, but I currently have a Dell with a 802.11G card and the wireless signal is very strong.

If you plan on using it for a lot of travel be sure to consider the weight of the machines you are looking at, as only a few pounds can make a big difference. And again for travel, include a DVD drive to view movies, etc.
