That wind farm is going right on my old stomping grounds. Its a ridiculous place to put it. Not only is it going next to a State and Federal Wildlife Refuge used by migratory waterfowl, but some of them are on endangered and protected lists as well. It will also sit on what is commonly referred to as the "ledge". Which is part of the Niagra escarpment that runs all the way to Niagra Falls and overlooks the Horicon Marsh. Its a very special place with a very special view. Just down the road the State has bought land to "preserve" this unique and beautiful geological and wildlife area. But here, they decide to allow windfarms? I'm rather cynical about such decisions by State DNR. I suspect some State muckety muck wants the lawsuits as an aid to empire building. I used to hunt ducks and geese on top of that ledge because they had to climb 300-400 feet to clear it...and they would be in range if you were in a blind waiting for them there. Now they will have to climb another couple hundred feet to clear the wind turbines? You are correct...there will be feathers, and blood, and save the animals lawyers everywhere. Dumb , dumb, dumb.
