We have had many dogs and the house we live in now does not have a fenced yard. If I had to live alone, I might think about owning a German Shepherd. They surely make good guard dogs and most of the police have them to hunt down suspects who have run from the scene. They are awesome and very devoted to their owner pets. And, one thing about cats they can be left for at least three days at a time and they do not tear up anything. Just put extra food and litter boxes down for them and they are very self reliant. Our latest addition we have found to be the sweetest and best behaved cat we have ever owned. Wish the other two were like her, but life is not perfect, but we do give them lots of love.
