Score 1 for the liberals.

Regarding the "War on Terrorism". The liberals were right. The British government is now saying that the London 7/7 attacks were likely coordinated in Pakistan. Surprise, surprise. Many liberals argued that it was crazy to be attacking a marginal country like Iraq when connections to 9/11 led back to countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. It appears that they were right.

Besides, attacking Iraq was an enormous mistake from the perspective of fighting terrorism. Even our own CIA, who should know better than anyone else, said that our presence in Iraq has made that country a training ground for a new generation of terrorists who will likely export their deadly training to other parts of the world (isn't that what we were supposedly trying to avoid?). Violence begets violence, that's a pretty easy lesson to learn in life, but our leaders apparently either don't care (because it helps the arms/oil industries) or terribly miscalculated (perhaps, they are a bit arrogant). Attacking Iraq has been a big mistake. Even those converted bleeding heart conservatives who cry crocadile tears for the Iraqi people have been duped by our government, as Iraqis now live under a similiar system of torture and repression that existed under Saddam, with mass arrests, holding without trial, and torture are routine in post-Saddam Iraq.

You know what struck me during the Attack on Iraq 2003? Being liberal was equated by the Pentagon with wanting to know the truth about WMDs and the reasons for taking our country to war. Those seem like American values and common sense to me. Who doesn't want to know the truth, especially in light of a clearly dubious policy and statements coming out of Washington (is there really any reason to trust those pathological liars in Washington, DC, how many lies will it take for people to wake up?). Kudos to the liberals for not falling for the U.S. government propaganda and lies over Iraq.
