The GOP stopped about 200,000 black voters from voting in the 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections in Florida and Ohio alone. The black community knows this. They are not likely to respond to a hypcritical liar like Ken Mehlman.

That said, there are always a few Uncle Tom types who will sign on with the GOP in exchange for promises of highly visible good jobs betraying their own peoples' interests and parroting rightwing spin. We see those types on TV all the time. They were also some in the old plantations.

Also, see how much the totally unqualified Condi Rice cost us after she ignored the 8-6 warnings about Bin Lauden wanting to attack inside the US. She never should have been security advisor. But, after she failed miserably, because she was black and a yes-man, she got a promotion. This is the lure for blacks in the GOP. Top jobs without proper qualifications.
