There is much evidence that Operation Desert Shield used deception to allow U.S. forces into Saudi Arabia. It was claimed that satellite photos showed a buildup of Iraqi troops a the border of Saudi Arabia, but Russian satelite photos of the time showed no Iraqi buildup of forces that would indicate an attack on that country.
