I doubt it. The press actually ate Clinton up, to the chargrin of many liberals. The press was no friend to Clinton. They had him for lunch over Monica and over every scandal that erupted during his Presidency. Some of the more wacky charges did not deserve press coverage and if they were legit the prosecuters would have pressed charges like they did when Clinton lost his law license.
