I think the things that rub me the wrong way the most about a categorical statement of liberal bias of the media are two. 1. It overstates the case. (ignores all of the right wing biased sources like righty opinion editorials (which are very widespread, talk radio, which until recently was totally right wing biased, and broadcast coverage like Fox which is biased toward the right. 2. (and this is my biggest gripe) It gives the impression that the media is doing a good job presenting the liberal case of things. In my opinion the media fails big time on this point. It most assuredly DOES NOT do a good job of presenting things from a liberal point of view. Many stories barely even get covered. There are stories that don't get covered at all. And as far as empowering the individual voter with facts as to how they can effect change the media gets a D or F in my opinion. It has become infotainment. (blather that is for the most point totally useless) It is my firm opinion that the media's role is to buffer people off and keep them in line, and that is what they do.
