True, however if you have a holding in a country you only need to subscribe once when you buy and once when you sell to get the market data. I have found this is still much cheaper than full service brokers for all order sizes.

Fidelity charged me $69.95 to buy 500 shrs TATYYF (Tate & Lyle)

IB would be GBP10 ($18) + GBP5 ($9) + .1%, $4,+ stamp duty .5%, $2 TOTAL $33 for 500 TATE.L

(Other markets may be different)

On the sale the only change would be the calculation of the .1% and .5% depending on where the price was at liquidation.
