"Having an element of something doesn't change the essence of the whole, not until and unless the element reaches critical mass. "

When you combine elements in chemistry it certainly does change the nature of the whole. Seems like the same thing happens in this area as well. Elemental hydrogen on it's own is very different from hydrogen combined with oxygen.

What you are saying you state as fact, but it's just opinion, and when it comes to the elements, what you've said is not borne out in the natural world. How do you parse the elements of something that is so knotted up in a ball, and has formed a new compund? If you blow up the twin towers (a symbol of America) as a huge protest against America, has a critical mass of protest been reached? When a terroist attacks a target specifically because of it's political nature, in protest of something, critical mass (if you'd like to put it that way) has been reached, has it not?
