Protestors want change. Marchers don't march just to express an opinion, they march because they want something to change. I wouldn't have marched in the anti-war marches if I hadn't thought the coercive weight of a lot of people wouldn't sway the leader of a semi-democarcy (was wrong about that. Probably won't march again. I begin to think if you want to get your way, and you are up against a large oppressive system, you probably need to use violence.)

So I think all protestors are looking for change, and are trying to be coercive, the mechanism they use is just different. Doesn't make a terrorist into a non-violent peace marcher, but it doesn't make them not a political protestor either (and probably a lot more effective in terms of getting action than the damn marcher).
